1 woman dies, 1 injured in 2-vehicle collision

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 08.21.2008 A 21-year-old woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when her car collided with a sport utility vehicle near East Grant Road and North First Avenue. The woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound in the median lane in the 900 block of East Grant at about 2:30 p.m. when she veered into the eastbound lane and collided with a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, Tucson police said. The police said they will not release the victim's name until her relatives have been notified. The 41-year-old woman driving the Blazer was taken to University Medical Center, where she was in serious but stable condition, said Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a police spokesman.
